UL 180 Quilt

We custom built the UL 180 Quilt as part of Ryan Jordan’s solo kit for the Arctic 1000. Ryan needed a synthetic quilt with a closed footbox that could handle the cold and wet conditions of an Arctic spring – for less than 20 ounces.

The UL 180 Quilt has an extra-long sewn footbox, arc-shaped variable girth cross section, elastic drawcord neck closure, and single draft control cord.

The UL 180 Quilt can be used as the core component of a three-season sleep system when combined with Cocoon Clothing, or by itself for summer backpacking in mild climates.

We recommend the following combinations:

  • UL 180 Quilt
  • Cocoon PRO 90 Parka
  • Cocoon UL 60 Pant

or

  • UL 180 Quilt
  • Cocoon PRO 60 Side Zip Pant
  • Cocoon UL 60 Hoody

“The UL 180 Quilt performed flawlessly in the Arctic. Its 180 g/m2 of Polarguard Delta, combined with 68 g/m2 insulated clothing garments (the Cocoon UL 60 Hoody and Pant), the UL 180 Quilt has proved itself warm and comfortable in the wettest three-season conditions while training this spring in Montana and putting it to the real test in the western Arctic in June.” – Ryan Jordan
